Meet Ben

Ben Reed, Attorney at Law

After graduating from high school in Missoula, Ben served in the Army as a Russian-language Signal Intelligence Voice Interceptor in what was then West Germany. When he returned to Montana, he earned his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Montana in 1998. His practice has ranged from business and unemployment law, to criminal defense and family law, to international law.

Ben is a past president of the First Judicial District Bar Association, and a member of the bars of the State of Montana, the U.S. District Courts in Montana and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has worked in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Balkans for U.S. and international organizations, but makes his home in Helena, Montana, for the fly fishing and wilderness recreation. He has served on the board of directors of Intermountain Planned Parenthood and of the Montana chapter of Project Healing Waters.

When not practicing law Ben can be found messing about with boats or motorcycles, kicking around the backcountry, and grilling. He dreams of having time to organize his record collection and his garage.
